Winter Solstice Ritual: Thanateros

The winter solstice in the northern hemisphere was at 5:02 a.m. (EST) on Monday, December 21, 2020.
The rare Saturn-Jupiter “Great Conjunction” is visible for North America an hour after sunset in the west-southwest sky (local cloud-cover permitting).
This marks the official astrological shift from a 200-year period during which Jupiter and Saturn made conjunctions primarily in Earth signs into a 200-year period of conjunctions in Air signs, marking the advent of a new epoch in a larger 800-year macro-cycle.
Air signs are said to intensify the emergent properties of the intellectual, the immaterial and the ideological.

Public Dimension of Ritual:
The Sumerian for “air” is “lil” (hence the demon Lilith in Isaiah, 34:14) and similarly, the demoness queen Agrat bat Mahlat from the Yalḳuṭ Ḥadas, the roof-dancer who rides the air in her chariot, while her mother Lilith howls. In the Zohar this queen is an angel of sacred prostitution who mates with the Archangel Samael (as does Lilith, Namaah and some say a fourth).

Each hour from sunset until midnight I will post a new image to this website:
